Athletic Coaches

Athletic coaches play a vital role in the student-athletes' experience with high school sports.  CIF has developed a set of requirements that are to be met by all high school coaches, to ensure the safety of each student-athlete and to ensure each athlete gets the most out of their experience on a high school team.

The Anderson Union High School District's policy is that all CIF and District requirements are met prior to any contact with students. This policy applies to all coaches, including volunteers. Please click on the Training Links drop down menu below for a list of certifications and trainings.

Coaching requirements consist of:
  • Fingerprint clearance
  • Drug test
  • TB test/risk assessment
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Fundamentals of Coaching certification
  • Concussions in Sports certification
  • Sudden Cardiac Arrest certification
  • Form of ID
  • Signed District policies
  • Mandated Child Abuse Reporter training
  • Sexual Harassment training

Paid coaches must also complete:
  • Physical assessment
  • Payroll paperwork
