Homeless & Foster Youth Resources

The term "homeless youth" refers to individuals who do not have a stable, regular, or sufficient place to sleep at night. This includes:

  • Children and youth staying with others due to housing loss, financial difficulties, or similar circumstances.
  • Those residing in motels, hotels, trailer parks, shelters, or awaiting foster care placement.
  • Children and youth whose primary nighttime shelter is a public or private space not intended for human habitation.
  • Individuals living in cars, parks, public areas, abandoned buildings, inadequate housing, or transportation hubs like bus or train stations.
  • Migratory children who meet the criteria for homelessness because they are in similar living situations.
  • Unaccompanied youth without a parent or guardian present.
The District Liason for Homeless and Foster Youth Students is here to help students who fall into this category.
